Level Assessments: Have you taken dog training classes with another organization?  Or have you trained your dog yourself & think your dog is ready for an intermediate or advanced level class at Toledo Dog Training?  If so, you must register for our Training Level Assessment to find out which class you & your dog are eligible to sign up for or, you may enroll in one of the Beginner dog training classes.
    • Our beginner classes are small, so we can easily work with you & your dog on more advance training if you cannot attend a level assessment.
    • If you test out of the beginner class at the level assessment, you will be required to attend one-"Getting To Know Toledo Dog Training Orientation" prior to the start of class. This is included in your class tuition.

    • We are assessing weather your dog is looking at you for instruction, or if your dog is too distracted in the environment at hand.
    • Basic behaviors include: Sit, Down, Stay, Recall, Walking On Leash, Being Handled/Pet By A Stranger & Ignoring Other Dogs/People/Distractions.  You are able to use rewards & humane training during the assessment.  Your dog does not need to be perfect, but remember, an assessment is to determine if your dog is able to attend an intermediate class.
    • Humane Treatment: Any person signing up for an assessment must agree to use huane training methods that would reflect Toledo Dog Training's philosophy. Specifically, no shock collars, pinch/prong, choke or citronella collars will be allowed, no ear-pinching, and no harsh or inhumane treatment of dogs (including but not limited to hanging, strangling, choking, kicking, dragging, beating, hitting, striking, slamming, throwing or any other pain-inducing method).
    • We do not offer assessments on a private basis.  At our assessments we are using volunteers, dogs & distractions.
    • Level Assessments will occur on a limited basis, and do fill quickly.
    • You always have the option of singing up for a Beginner Class if we do not have an assessment available.
    • Handler should be the person who will be taking the dog through classes.
    • Current Vaccines (DHPP, Rabies, Bordetalla)
