Amy is an Ohio native who moved back to the Toledo area in 2009 from Pennsylvania. Before moving to Toledo, she attended such dog training classes as: Obedience, Agility, Puppy, Tricks & Rally-O. She owns 2 delightful Doberman Pinchers, Ace & Haley who she continues training with.
Annie is a Marketing Researcher, originally from Wapakoneta, Ohio. She grew up showing Quarter Horses and had a number of different animals, including Great Pyrenees dogs. She moved to Toledo to attend college, and her and her husband have lived here ever since. They have two dogs, Kermit, a Chihuahua, and Lucy, a Boston Terrier. Lucy is a very energetic Boston that they adopted from a rescue 2 years ago. Annie looks forward to continuing to advance in training with Lucy.
Penny is an Emergency Room nurse who has enjoyed raising dogs since the age of eleven. She grew up with beagles, terriers, and dobermans in her youth and has a love for all dogs and animals. Penny currently has two golden retrievers Czar 10 and Jazzmine 7 months and a 14 year old Blue Russian cat named Jon Ethan.
Janette Originally from the northwest coast of England, Janette & her husband came to the U.S., first in Toledo and for the past several years, across the line in Michigan.
They are blessed to be owned by two Dandies, Lucy and Charlie Brown! Lucy is their sweet girl and loves the security of familiar surroundings, whereas Charlie Brown is very outgoing and loves to meet and greet!
He succeeded in the show ring but knew there was much more to life than that. "Thanks to classes taken at Toledo Dog Training we reached one of our our goals and are now a registered Delta Society Pet Partner
Team. As an Assistant I am hoping to help other pet owners reach their goals too."
Megan is a professional musician and viola professor at the College of Musical Arts at BGSU. She is a huge animal lover and adopted her 10 month old lab/terrier mix, Hannah, from the Wood County Dog Shelter. She is constantly amazed at how dog training and teaching college are so similar!
Mallory is a Bowling Green State University student from Cincinnati, OH. She has 3 lovable dogs named Dolce, Bella, and Sampson that she is very proud of! Dolce and Bella are two mixed breeds that were adopted from animal rescues and Sampson is a yellow Labrador. Mallory's favorite things to do with her dogs are tricks and training, going to parks, camping, playing frisbee and taking pictures/videos of them for fun.
Photo Coming Soon! Patty is a former English teacher and librarian. She recently rescued a 3 ½ year old Golden Retriever named King. In her spare time she volunteers at Assistance Dogs of America, takes dog training classes at Toledo Dog Training & reads various dog training books.

Requirements For Becoming A Toledo Dog Training Class Assistant:

You have taken a Toledo Dog Training Class/or Private Lessons
-
Basic knowledge of dog behavior
-
Desire to learn dog behavior
-
Comfortable around all breeds of dogs

Comfortable dealing with people
-

You are at least 18 years of age
-
You understand the instructor's role in the classroom and support their decisions, and do not contradict the instructor or the homework
-
You do not offer behavioral advice to students, and defer these questions to the instructor

You are willing to commit to assisting all classes in a session, and willing to coordinate with the instructor for classes you will not be able to assist

You have reviewed the class syllabus and understand the theory behind it
Toledo Dog Training Assistant Responsibilities:
-
Arrive a ½ hour before the start of class to help set up dog training room, move dogs, etc. (first class of the night)

Stay a ½ hour after class to help clean up, move dogs, etc (last class of the night)

Assist students as needed

Assist instructor as needed
